Shrimper Sails

(items) 1–7 of 7
I'm looking to replace the sails on my 1990 Shrimper
I've approached R&J Sails in Clevedon, SKB in Penryn and Penrose in Falmouth.
For a jib alone, the prices range from £179 to £350, UV strips being extra.
Does anyone have good experiences of buying new sails and who would you recommend as a supplier??
cheers
andy
Andy,
You might wish to read Keith Thatcher's piece in technical problems under 'splits in jib'.
The only other company you might try is Westaway Sails at Ivybridge (used to be Osen).
I shouldn't delay as most companies give their biggest discounts in October.
Regards,
Graham

Get a quote from Jeckells - I gave details in the thread -Splits in Jib - under technical problems.

I had sails made by Nick on West Mersea. The jib with UV was lower than your lowest price with a UV strip, but it was 4 years ago. I don't have Nick's details to hand but you can find him through the office at Peter Clarke's boatyard on West Mersea. Let me know how you get on.

I am currently in the process of getting a quote from Rowsells for a set of cream sails, I will let you know how I get on.
With 10% seasonal discount £875, so looks like I will be ordering some.
